Terms of Service
These terms apply when you use MediaToText. They are written to be read, not to be impressive.
What the service is
MediaToText converts audio and video recordings into text. It is provided free of charge and without an account.
There are limits on file size, recording length and how many conversions you can run in an hour. These limits are shown in the interface and exist so that the service remains usable for everyone.
What you may upload
You may upload recordings that you own, or that you otherwise have the right to transcribe. You are responsible for having that right.
Do not use the service to process recordings obtained unlawfully, or where transcription would breach an obligation you owe to someone else.
Accuracy
Transcripts are produced automatically and will contain errors, particularly with proper nouns, numbers, and passages where people speak over each other.
The output is a starting point, not a certified record. Do not rely on it for legal, medical, financial or safety-critical purposes without checking it against the original recording.
Availability
The service is provided as it is, without a guarantee of availability. Processing capacity is limited and files are handled one at a time, so there may be a queue at busy periods.
We may change or withdraw features, and we may change the limits described above.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of the service, including loss caused by errors in a transcript or by the service being unavailable.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
